Elsa Baader
Psychologist FSP and Nutritionist, trained in Geneva, Lausanne and Stanford
Specialist in PCOS, IBS, emotional eating and hormonal health
For many of us, food stops being nourishment and becomes a source of guilt, confusion, or quiet battle. The body sends signals: fatigue, bloating, irregular cycles, cravings and no one quite explains what they mean or what to do about them. Elsa's work starts there: helping you understand your body instead of fighting it.
Elsa is a psychologist and nutritionist, but before becoming a practitioner, she was a patient. Years of unexplained fatigue, unwanted weight changes, disrupted sleep and mental fog led to two diagnoses: PCOS/ SMOP and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). It took her years to understand that all of it was connected, hormones, gut, emotions, food. That understanding, built through knowledge and gradual change rather than restriction, is what she now brings to every consultation.
At Centre Ichigo Ichie, Elsa brings the "nutrition and psychological wellbeing" dimension to our integrative health journeys. She works closely with the rest of the team and shares her observations during our collective case reviews, so that what you eat and how you feel are never treated as two separate stories.
A dual expertise: psychology and nutrition, together
Elsa trained in nutrition at the TCMA school in Geneva and at Stanford University in the United States. She later completed a Master's degree in health psychology at the University of Lausanne, and worked as a research assistant at the CHUV Palliative Care Unit and at the Institute of Psychology (UNIL) before moving into health promotion project management. This combination is rare, and it shapes everything she does: she doesn't just look at what is on your plate, she looks at what your body is going through and what your mind is doing with it.
Her practice covers hormonal and metabolic nutrition (PCOS, fertility), anti-inflammatory nutrition (endometriosis), the psychology of emotional eating and disordered relationships with food, and general food rebalancing built around understanding rather than dieting.
What makes this approach different
It comes from lived experience. Elsa isn't only applying theory. She has navigated years of medical uncertainty herself, and it shows in how she listens without minimising what you describe.
It combines two disciplines that are usually kept apart. Nutrition advice without psychological understanding often fails to last. Psychological support without nutritional literacy misses half the picture. Elsa works both angles at once.
It is judgment-free, by design. No standardised diets, no miracle programmes, no guilt-based language, no discourse focused only on weight loss. The goal is a durable, peaceful relationship with food and your body not a set of rules to follow.
It moves at your pace. There is no imposed programme. Sessions adapt to where you are, your history and your goals, not the other way around.
Who this is for
A consultation with Elsa can support you if you are living with:
- PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and its hormonal and metabolic symptoms
- Endometriosis, and the search for an anti-inflammatory, pain-aware way of eating
- Emotional eating, disordered eating patterns, or a conflicted relationship with food
- Fertility concerns you'd like to support through nutrition and lifestyle
- A wish to rebalance your eating habits, lose or gain weight, without restrictive dieting
- Anxiety, stress, fatigue or sleep difficulties, especially around life transitions
It is also valuable simply as a space to finally understand your body and your cycle, without judgment.
A team that talks to each other
At Centre Ichigo Ichie, Elsa does not work in isolation. Within our integrative health journeys, her nutrition and psychology work complements Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, somatic therapy, sophrology and hypnotherapy, naturopathy and kinesiology. The team meets regularly to review shared journeys, so that every practitioner knows where you stand.
If your fatigue shows up alongside digestive troubles, hormonal symptoms and a difficult relationship with food, you won't have to tell your story five times. We already share it. That, to us, is what integrative health means.
